Petroglyphs are carvings or paintings on stone surfaces.  The ancient symbols of animals, birds, tribesmen, kokopellis, sun, clouds and hunters are frequently combined to illustrate a story or legend.  The petroglyphs illustrated on this Petroglyph Pottery are depictions of drawings dating from 950 A.D.  These prehistoric drawings convey stories of daily life, rituals, myths and legends.
