Less expensive, but still very high quality, this economy Bone Hairpipe is offered in 1/2" size increments from 1/2" to 4" packaged with 50 pieces.  A very popular trade item, hairpipe has been in use since prehistoric times for Native American breastplates, Indian chokers, etc; originally produced from the columns of marine conch shells.  Manufacturers started to produce shell hairpipe from the Western Indian conch to be used as trade goods with the Native American Indian in the 1700's.  Bone hairpipe appeared about 1880 and is still used today.  Choose 1/2", 1", 1 1/2", 2", 2 1/2", 3", 3 1/2" or 4" in 50 piece packages.
