Dark brown smooth leather is the backdrop for this handsome shield, handcrafted & signed by Lone Wolf, a Shawnee/Delaware. Shields originally were used for a warrior's protection or identification for a Native American family or individual. Modern day, we mostly use them for interior decorating although each shield is unique and will have many relevant designs & symbols within. Highly polished brass conchos with Czech glass beads accent the handpainted coyote skull on both sides. Graceful painted or natural feathers from the center bottom for a delicate touch of color.
