One of the five Great Spirit coins, this Bronzed Medicine Wheel Recovery Medallion/Coin has a raised-relief medicine wheel on the front with the words "Native American in Recovery". The reverse side has the following prayer: "Great Spirit whose voice I hear in the wind... whose breath gives life to the world...hear me. I come to you as one of your many children. I am small and weak. I need your strength and wisdom. May I walk in beauty."
The Medicine Wheel is a very sacred symbol to Native American Indians. The circle stands for the Great Spirit who is the entire life of the people and of Creation. The circle also symbolizes life, which has no beginning, nor ending...it is continuous. The cross in the middle indicates the four directions to which Native Americans pray to honor our ancestors and, also, it represents the four colors of the people of the world.
